By Air

The nearest airport is Kushok Bakula Rimpochee Airport in Leh, approx 125 km from Lamayuru. 

By Road

Travelling from Srinagar to Leh using a national highway will enable you to reach Lamayuru easily.  

  • Using a public or private bus that goes towards Kargil/Srinagar will take you to Lamayuru from Leh which is 125 kilometres away.  
  • If you are trying to reach from Kargil, which is 107 km away, you don’t have to worry since buses and taxis are accessible frequently.  
  • And, if you are trying to come from Srinagar, you will have to cover a distance of 343 kilometres and drive through NH1. Sonmarg, Drass, and Kargil are some places that you will cross before reaching Lamayuru.

By Train
